Format the USB stick as FAT32

Use this page for the ADB Lock install. The car reads the USB stick only as FAT32.

WARNING: Format deletes all files on the USB stick. Copy the files you need to another place first.

Windows

  1. Connect the USB stick to the computer.
  2. Open File Explorer.
  3. Right-click the USB stick drive.
  4. Click Format.
  5. Select FAT32 as the file system.
  6. Leave Quick Format selected.
  7. Press Start. Wait until it finishes.

NOTE: Windows can hide FAT32 for a stick larger than 32 GB. Use a USB stick of 32 GB or smaller.

Mac

  1. Connect the USB stick to the Mac.
  2. Open Disk Utility.
  3. Select the USB stick on the left. Select the disk, not only a partition.
  4. Press Erase.
  5. Select MS-DOS (FAT) as the format. This is FAT32.
  6. Select Master Boot Record as the scheme.
  7. Press Erase. Wait until it finishes.

After the format

  1. Copy svtasklist.flag to the top folder of the USB stick.
  2. Copy adbauth.key to the same top folder.
  3. Do not put the files in a subfolder.
  4. Go back to the ADB Lock install.
