Face Recognition

Face recognition uses the DMS camera to identify the driver when the ignition turns on. If a saved person is found, the app speaks a notice. If the car has seat memory, it applies the saved seat memory (1, 2, or 3).

You can save up to 3 people. On a car without seat memory, the app only identifies the driver and speaks the notice.

Open the screen

1. Open the MapControl app.
2. In the side menu, touch "Face Recognition".
3. The first time, an early access notice appears. Touch "I accept" to continue. The notice is asked once.

NOTE: The DMS camera depends on the hardware. It may not work on every model. Camera permission is required.

Turn automatic recognition on

1. Turn the switch on. On a car with seat memory, the switch is named "Automatic face recognition & seat memory". Without seat memory, it is named "Automatic face recognition".
2. The status line shows how many people are saved and whether recognition is on.
3. Add at least one face profile first. If there is none, the app says "Add at least one face profile first."

When the ignition turns on, the DMS camera scans the driver. After a match, the camera is released. While the ignition is off, the app waits for the next start.

For this, keep "Background service on startup" On in Settings.

Save a person

1. Touch "Scan Face / Manage Profiles". The "Face Recognition & Profiles" screen opens.
2. Look straight at the camera.
3. Type the person's name. A second profile cannot use the same name.
4. If the car has seat memory, choose 1, 2, or 3 on the "Koltuk Hafızası Seçin" row. This number must match the seat-memory button in the car.
5. Touch "Start Face Scan".
6. Center your face in the frame. The screen asks for these steps, in order: look straight ahead, turn your head slightly left, turn slightly right, look slightly up, look slightly down.
7. The cluster may say "Please look here". When the scan ends, it says "Completed".
8. If the save works, the screen shows the person's name and the seat-memory number.

If no face is visible, the screen says "No face detected". Move closer and make sure the face is clear. To leave the scan, touch "Cancel Scan".

Delete a profile

• "Delete" next to a person removes only that profile.
• "Delete All" removes every saved profile. The app asks "Delete all saved face profiles?"
• When 3 people are saved, delete one profile before you add another.

What happens when the ignition turns on?

1. You start the car.
2. The app scans the driver's face with the DMS camera.
3. On a match, the screen says "User detected" and the app speaks a notice.
4. If seat memory is available, the app applies that seat-memory number.
5. When the scan ends, the DMS camera is released.

If the voice engine is not ready, there is no spoken notice. The screen says so. If seat memory cannot be sent, the reason appears on the status line. Example reasons: the ignition is not on, the memory number is outside 1–3, or the car connection is still starting.
