Welcome Screen and First Start

First start

The first time that you open the app, these windows show:

  1. Welcome window: It shows the legal notice and the terms of use. Read them. Touch "I accept" to continue. If you touch "I decline", the app closes.
  2. Language window: "Choose your language to get started". Select a language. Touch "Continue".

The legal notice says that the software is free, that you change settings voluntarily, and that the developer is not liable for damage.

Welcome Sound

The Welcome Sound is a sound file that the car plays. You can set it to play each time the vehicle starts.

Add a sound file

  1. Put the sound file in the Downloads folder of the car. You can use the web server to send the file.
  2. The app can read these file types: mp3, wav, m4a, ogg, flac, aac, wma, and amr.

Select a sound

  1. Open the MapControl app.
  2. Touch "Welcome Screen" in the side menu. On the home panel, touch the "Welcome Screen" shortcut.
  3. Touch "Choose sound file".
  4. Touch a file in the list. The file name shows under "Selected sound".
  5. If the list is empty, the app shows "No suitable file in Downloads". Add a file and try again.

Play and stop

Play automatically at start

  1. Select a sound file.
  2. Set "Play automatically on startup" to On.
  3. The app plays the sound each time the vehicle starts.
  4. To stop this, set the switch to Off.

Entrance design

The entrance design is a picture that shows on the main screen when the vehicle starts. This picture is separate from the sound file.

Designs

Select a design

  1. Open the MapControl app.
  2. Touch "Welcome Screen" in the side menu. On the home panel, touch the "Welcome Screen" shortcut.
  3. In the "Entrance design" section, touch a card. The selected card is highlighted.
  4. The app saves your selection.

Welcome line

  1. Write one line in the "Welcome line" box. The box shows "First and last name".
  2. The app saves the line.
  3. If you leave the box empty, the name line does not show.

Preview

  1. Touch "Preview".
  2. The selected design opens on the main screen.
  3. Touch the screen to close the picture.
  4. If you do not touch the screen, the picture closes after about 8 seconds.

NOTE: If "Off" is selected, "Preview" does not show a picture.

What happens when the vehicle starts?

  1. You start the vehicle.
  2. The app shows the selected design on the main screen.
  3. Touch the screen. The picture closes.
  4. If you do not touch the screen, the picture closes after about 8 seconds.

If "Off" is selected, the app does not show a picture at start.

NOTE: This picture needs the Overlay permission. The installer gives this permission.
