Camera 360

Camera 360 shows the four cameras around the car: Front, Rear, Left, and Right. You can watch them live, or record them to a USB drive or to in-car storage.

Surround cameras work only on the vehicle head unit.

Open the screen

  1. Open the MapControl app.
  2. In the side menu, touch "Camera 360".
  3. The first time, an early access notice appears. Touch "I accept" to continue. The notice is asked once.
  4. The screen says "Choose a mode". There are four cards.

NOTE: Do not force a camera your vehicle does not have. It depends on the hardware and software, and it may not work on every model.

  6. "Stop" closes the preview.

If there is no signal, the screen says "No signal · retrying". If the cameras are busy, wait and try again.

USB Recording

This mode needs a USB drive. The drive must be FAT32. See FAT32.

  1. Touch the "USB Recording" card.
  2. If no drive is plugged in, the screen says "No USB storage connected. Plug in a USB drive." Plug one in and touch "Refresh".
  3. Under "Recording Settings", choose "Resolution". The choices are HD (1280×800, highest detail), 960×600 (balanced), and 640×400 (smallest file).
  4. If "Record 4 angles separately" is off, the four angles become one mosaic MP4. If it is on, each angle becomes its own MP4.
  5. "Start Recording" starts the recording. "Stop Recording" ends it.

Recording continues in the background. The notification says "Camera 360 recording". A "Recording in progress" banner appears. Touch the banner to open USB Recording.

The file is written to the app folder on the USB drive. With separate recording off, it is one MP4, a 1280×800 mosaic, about 60 MB per minute.

Auto-record to USB with ignition

  1. On the USB Recording screen, turn on "Auto-record with ignition".
  2. With the ignition on and a USB drive plugged in, the app records 1-minute clips with these settings. Recording stops when the USB drive is full.

NOTE: USB recording cannot be used while in-car automatic recording is on. Turn that off on the In-Car Recording screen first. The two automatic recordings cannot be on at the same time.

In-Car Recording

  1. Touch the "In-Car Recording" card.
  2. Turn on "Record automatically with ignition".
  3. Read the "In-car automatic recording" window. Touch "Confirm" to continue. Touch "Cancel" to stop.
  4. Choose "Recording mode".
