Launcher Mode
Launcher mode changes MapControl into a full-screen car panel. The panel shows vehicle data, music, the clock, the weather, and app shortcuts on one screen.
Turn on the mode
- Open the MapControl app.
- Touch "Settings" in the side menu.
- Set the "Vehicle Launcher mode" switch to On.
- The app changes to the full-screen panel. The side menu and the status bar are hidden.
Make the panel the home screen
- Set the "Vehicle Launcher mode" switch to On.
- Touch the link "Change default home app in system settings".
- Select MapControl from the list.
- Push the Home key. The car opens the MapControl panel.
NOTE: On some cars, the system does not show this selection window. Then the app opens the system settings.
Turn off the mode
- In the "Quick access" card, touch the red X icon at the top right. Its name is "Exit mode".
- The app returns to the normal tab view.
You can also set the switch in Settings to Off.
What is on the panel?

Driving tab: vehicle data

| Drive mode | Active drive mode. |
| RPM | Engine speed. |
| Trip | Trip distance. |
| Total km | Total distance (ODO). |
| Fuel | Fuel level. |
| Range | Distance you can drive with the fuel that remains. |
| Avg. consumption | Average fuel consumption. |
| Coolant | Coolant temperature. |
| Low fuel | Yes or No. |
| Battery | Battery information. |
If the car does not send data, the panel shows "Waiting for vehicle data". Some cards show "Tap for details". Touch the card to see more details.
Music tab
- The panel shows the title and the artist of the current track.
- Buttons: Play, Pause, Previous track, Next track, Volume down, Volume up, Mute.
- If no music plays, the panel shows "Bluetooth ready" and "Select a song to play".
- If the panel shows "Notification access required", touch the text. MapControl opens. Give the notification access.
Quick access card
Add an app
- Touch an empty box with a "+" icon.
- Select an app from the "Choose app" list. System apps have "(System)" after the name.
Open an app
- Touch the app icon.
Remove an app shortcut
- Touch and hold the app icon. The message "App removed" shows. This action does not delete the app. It only deletes the shortcut.
Set the number of shortcuts
- Touch the gear icon at the top of the card. "Quick access settings" opens.
- Touch "Set shortcut count".
- Select 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, or 35 apps. The default is 10.
List all apps
- Touch the gear icon.
- Touch "List all apps".
- The panel shows all apps on the car. Touch an app to open it.
Swipe shortcuts
You can swipe the "Clock and status" card in four directions. Each direction opens one shortcut.
Assign a shortcut
- Touch the gear icon at the top of the Quick access card. "Quick access settings" opens.
- Touch "Swipe shortcuts".
- Touch one direction. The directions are Up, Left, Right, and Down.
- Select a target. The row shows the direction and the target.

| MapControl shortcut | Opens the related screen. The list contains the MapControl shortcuts on the panel. |
| Choose an app… | Opens the app list. Select an app. A swipe opens that app. |
NOTE: For cluster projection, select an app first. See Projection.
Use a shortcut
- On the Launcher panel, go to the "Clock and status" card.
- Swipe the card up, down, left, or right.
- The target that you assigned opens.
If a direction has no shortcut, the app shows "No shortcut set for this swipe".
If the system app list is not available, the app shows "System app list was not found".
Remove a shortcut
- Open the "Swipe shortcuts" window.
- Touch and hold a direction that has a target.
- The app shows "Swipe shortcut removed".
MapControl shortcuts
The panel has shortcuts to the MapControl sections: Wi-Fi, Web, Profile, Projection, Apps, Memory, Welcome, and Settings. Touch a shortcut. The related screen opens. For the screens, see the Usage guide.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Action |

| The panel shows "Waiting for vehicle data" | Make sure that the car is on. Wait a short time. |
| The panel does not open at start | In Settings, set "App screen at boot" and "Background service at boot" to On. Make MapControl the home app. |
| No music information | Give the notification access to MapControl. |
| You want the normal view again | Touch the X icon in the Quick access card. |
| A swipe on the clock card does not open a shortcut | In the "Swipe shortcuts" window, assign a target to that direction. |
